The BJP officials who have been widely disseminating a video clip of Chidambaram criticising the government’s response to the Pahalgam attack in an interview with an online news portal appear to have been the target of the attack.
The Congress politician claimed that there was no proof to back up the government’s assertion that the assailants were from the neighbouring country, which led the BJP to accuse him of backing Pakistan.
However, Chidambaram defended the interview, claiming that he had questioned the government on a number of occasions.
