In order to reconstruct the crime scene, the Kolkata police on Friday brought Manojit Mishra and other key suspects in the alleged gang rape of a law student to South Kolkata Law College.

To reconstruct the crime scene, the accused were brought to the college’s grounds under strict security. Senior police officials reportedly transported the accused to the college early on Friday morning and spent over five hours there reconstructing the murder scene.

In addition to Mishra, security guard Pinaki Banerjee and law school students Pramit Mukherjee and Zaib Ahmed were brought to the college grounds at approximately 4.30 a.m. on Friday. The police spent over five hours at the campus reconstructing the crime scene.

One of the most important aspects of the investigation is reconstructing the crime scene. Today, we finished the task. The mission was completed when the four accused were brought to the South Calcutta Law College early this morning, a senior police officer told PTI. “Our findings will now be cross-checked with the allegation of the woman and verified with other evidence,” the cop stated.

Manojit Mishra reportedly gang-raped the 24-year-old first-year law student for almost three hours on June 25 in the college guard’s quarters. According to investigators, the two senior students were on duty at the doors during the horrifying incident. The campus security guard was later arrested by police for allegedly not performing his duty and for failing to take action against the heinous crime. The victim’s complaint claims that the offence was committed in the guard’s room as well as other places on campus.
