Originally scheduled to premiere on September 12th, Dulquer Salmaan’s Tamil historical epic “Kaantha” has been rescheduled for an undisclosed date. The producers will soon reveal a new date. The makers said the decision is to continue ‘Lokah: Chapter 1-Chandra”s successful theatrical run. Now playing in theatres all around India is the Kalyani Priyadarshan movie, which was funded by Dulquer’s Wayfarer Films.

The principal actor Dulquer, director Selvamani Selvaraj, and co-producer Rana Daggubati jointly issued the following statement: “The love and support you’ve given us since our teaser was out has really touched us. Given Lokah’s overwhelming success, we want Chandra’s box office heist to continue to climb. “We are creating something equally unique,” the statement read.

Dulquer is a natural for historical epics, as evidenced by the just released teaser for “Kaantha.” In the Selvamani Selvaraj-written and -directed movie, Dulquer plays… well, an actor who appears to have a tense relationship with a filmmaker (Samuthirakani). As one might anticipate from a cinematographer of his level, Dani Sanchez Lopez, who previously filmed Daggubati’s “Virata Parvam” and Dulquer’s “Mahanati,” is responsible for the teaser’s breathtaking visuals.

Dulquer had previously spoken of his role in the movie: “I got to play a timeless role in a timeless story.” To commemorate my 13 years in the business, I couldn’t have asked for a better present. I’m thankful to the whole #Kaantha crew and the amazing audiences who have shown me all the support and affection an actor could ask for.”

Actors Rana Daggubati, Bhagyashri Borse, and Samuthirakani are among those who join Dulquer Salmaan in the cast.

Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films, in collaboration with Prashanth Potluri and Jom Varghese, and Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media are funding it.

The technical team includes Captain Miller, Karnan, and Tha. Ramalingam, who is the art director for Sarpatta Parambarai. Lewellyn Anthony Gonsalves is responsible for the editing, while Jhanu Chanthar is the composer.

‘Lucky Baskhar’, Dulquer’s Telugu film, which was directed by Venky Atluri, was a huge regional hit. Meenakshi Chaudhary, Y. Kasi Viswanath, Sarvadaman D. Banerjee, Ramki, Raghu Babu, Tinnu Anand, P. Sai Kumar, and Sachin Khedekar.
