The most recent GST reforms will shortly result in a price reduction of up to Rs 18,800 for Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India’s (HMSI) two-wheelers up to 350cc.
In a statement, HMSI claimed that the manufacturer of two-wheelers would give its customers the full advantages of the latest GST rate drop for all of its products, including scooters and motorcycles up to 350cc.
The GST Council’s decision to lower the two-wheeler GST rate from 28% to 18% will take effect later this month. According to the firm, this would result in ex-showroom pricing for HMSI being lowered by much to Rs 18,800, depending on the model.
Yogesh Mathur of HMSI stated, “The GST reduction on two-wheelers and spare parts is a timely and forward-thinking step, making vehicles more affordable and strengthening the overall ecosystem.”
Royal Enfield, an Indian manufacturer of muscle motorcycles, also stated yesterday that its 350cc bike range would be priced up to Rs 22,000 less starting on September 22.
Hero MotoCorp, the biggest two-wheeler manufacturer in India, also declared in a regulatory filing that it will lower the cost of its different models by as much as Rs 15,743. TVS also announced pricing reductions across its range.
Given the decline in demand following the epidemic, the two-wheeler vehicle industry in India anticipates that the new GST 2.0 changes will increase consumption.
